I am a recent masters graduate from the George Washington University. Before that, I studied psychology and worked in a child stress and emotions lab as an undergraduate at the University of Maryland. I believe that my passion in understand child development and how we learn has helped me become especially skilled in being able to realize the importance of each individual’s unique style of learning and how critical it is to understand and connect with a child in order for them to grow. I was always passionate about math and science growing up and prided myself on being able to break down complex subjects in fun and approachable ways for my peers. In my masters program, I worked 24 weeks in a third-grade classroom, 8 weeks in a compacted math fourth grade classroom, 4 weeks in summer reading program with a reading specialist, and four weeks one-on-one tutoring. Immediately after graduating this past spring, I took a 6-week long-term substituting position in a Bethesda third-grade classroom and it was great extra teaching experience. This coming fall, I will be working as a fifth grade teacher at Luxmanor elementary in Bethesda, MD.
